The gold South Dakota Highway Patrol badge pictured displays a GaRel hallmark. Of course, GaRel has never been the authorized maker of the South Dakota Highway Patrol badge. There are many things wrong with the badge, including the state seal and other things. Just knowing that it is a GaRel is enough to make any educated collector reject the badge so far as a serious collectible is concerned. This badge is probably worth $25, if that, as a novelty or movie prop badge.
