Welcome
to the ALERTS page. This section of the website will
give you the latest news about reproduction badges
and fake badges that have surfaced in the badge collectors
marketplace. The date of the information entry along
with other useful information will be noted.
Our
definition of a "reproduction badge" is
a badge that is made in the shape and design of the
"department issue" badge, but has never
been property of the department it represents. A "fake
badge" is a badge that carries the name of the
department it represents, but the badge is not of
the style and design used by the department.
For
those of you with the BADGE GUIDE book,
you are encouraged to keep your book updated with
notes from this section. You will find each of the
50 state listed below. By clicking the state, you
will be taken to the latest information we have regarding
any "fake" or "reproduction" badges
being offered for sale on the collectors market for
that state. Information about the current "department
issue" badges, their photos and the current collectors
price guide, is in our book. Please consider ordering
a copy. We need your comments, photos, and support.
